Originally part of a retreat for an ancient Order of Nuns, Anise Cottage is now a delightful holiday home located in superb peace and tranquility in park-like grounds with fruit trees, shrubs and ornamental trees.
These five lodges - Basil, Thyme, Rosemary, Fennel and Anise were originally retreats for an ancient Order of Nuns and are now delightful holiday homes located in superb peace and tranquility in park-like grounds with fruit trees, shrubs and ornamental trees in the grounds of a lovely Oast house (formerly the Library for the Order). During the relevant seasons, apples, and other fruits are available for guests to enjoy. Guests are also welcome to walk and explore the owner's ten acres of paddocks and fields. This is an ideal area for walkers with a wealth of footpaths and walkways, yet within easy access of Staplehurst and for visiting the many beautiful gardens, castles, historic houses and National Trust properties in the region. There is a railway station at Staplehurst with regular services to London. The lodges can be booked individually to sleep between two - four people in each, or together to sleep a total of eleven. Sitting Room/Dining/Kitchen is a lovely spacious open plan design with patio doors leading out to your private decking with panoramic country views over the paddock. There is a comfortable sofa, a flat screen TV/DVD/Freeview and dining table with two chairs. The Kitchen Area has a two ring electric hob with extractor hood, a combination microwave oven/grill, a fridge with freezer compartment, a washing machine and lots of cupboard space
