This attractive traditional 18th Century cottage stands in the delightful and secluded hamlet of Rosenithon near St Keverne on the Lizard Peninsula, with excellent sea views. Set over three floors, Penrose Farm Cottage is ideal for family and friends, combining spacious accommodation and light bright decor with original features, including an ancient inglenook fireplace (not in operation) and ceiling beams. On the ground floor is a double bedroom, bathroom, dining room, study and kitchen. The first floor has a sitting room with sea views, bathroom and two further bedrooms. The third floor has the fourth bedroom which is a twin. The garden is on two levels with an attractive sheltered patio - perfect for alfresco dining or sitting with a chilled drink - and a large raised lawn which backs onto green farmland. St Keverne is half a mile away with its picturesque church, village square, shop and two friendly Inns. The Helford Estuary including Daphne Du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek creates a unique ambience for sailors and canoeists, the Seal Park at Gweek provides an unforgettable experience. Boating and diving facilities are available nearby and windsurfing, paddle-boarding and kayaking take place in nearby Coverack. Flambards Theme Park and Poldark Mine are both within easy driving distance. There is something for all ages on the Lizard Peninsula, famous for its quaint and pretty villages, including the fishing cove at Cadgwith and other tranquil bays with stunning beaches of white sand and turquoise seas, and secret caves. The Cornish Coastal Footpath passes close to the cottage and other footpaths nearby cover long stretches of rugged scenery. Perfectly located for a coastal and country retreat, Penrose Farm Cottage ticks all the boxes.
On the eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula, the pretty village of St Keverne, lying just 1.25 miles inland, is the focal point for this area, with its village pubs and shops surrounding the village square, and an impressive church spire, at one time used to guide the Cornish fishermen home. From St Keverne, you can easily explore the natural and spectacular beauty of the Lizard Peninsula by car, bicycle or on foot. You will find walled fishing harbours, tiny secret coves, sandy bays and dramatic clifftop walks
