You can imagine spending many happy evenings here with friends and loved ones, curled up on the sofa, taking in the warmth from the woodburning stove and really getting into the holiday spirit. The kitchen is rustic yet contemporary in style and any keen chefs will love spending time here with all the facilities needed to create whatever tasty cuisine takes your fancy.Step into the elegant dining room where you can dine in comfort and take in the views over the surrounding countryside.
The gardens are a real delight and enjoy far reaching countryside views, lawns with beautiful shrubs and planting, a terrace and a patio area complete with a stunning summerhouse, making it a truly pleasing place to spend time alfresco. Upper Cottage is located in a peaceful rural location yet within easy reach of the nearby village of Uplyme with its village pub and store.A scenic riverside walk will take you from Uplyme into Lyme Regis itself which has delightful selection of independent shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants as well as popular family friendly beaches, visitor attractions and the renowned Cobb Harbour.
The World heritage Jurassic Coastline has a wealth of wonderful beaches, seaside towns and picturesque villages to discover whether you are on foot or in the car.The quaint fishing village of Beer is well worth a visit with its iconic limestone cliffs providing a dramatic backdrop to the sheltered beach where you can sit watch the local fishing boats come into shore. For walkers, the area is crisscrossed with footpaths and bridleways and this popular stretch of the South West Coastal footpath rewards with breath taking scenic views. For some great family days out why not take a tram ride from Seaton along the River Axe to the historic market town of Colyton or take a drive to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens or The Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth.

The area was chosen by TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall for his River Cottage HQ at Park Farm, where you can treat yourself to a great meal. Just a short drive takes you to the stunning Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis. This delightful historic seaside town boasts a maze of narrow streets, with an interesting array of shops and cafes, whilst the sandy beach lends itself to great bathing and watersports, and the bustling little harbour offers regular fishing trips, or try your hand at fossil hunting. Within an easy drive is the quaint town of Axminster, or how about a ride on the Seaton Tramway? A glorious location for a varied and interesting holiday.
