Alternatively, if you are looking to head further out, then the Dartmoor national Park is a 40-minute drive with endless scenery to enjoy. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards the sandy beaches of Thurlestone and Bigbury-on-Sea in one direction, and the sailing town of Salcombe in the other.
