This modern house has been designed to appeal to families and large groups; with six bedrooms, four in the main house and two in self-contained annexe. Access between the two halves of the house is via a hallway on the first floor.

Accommodation

With natural light and coastal views, the two first floor living areas invite you to enjoy the surrounding scenery. As well as offering balcony access, each open plan reception offers comfortable leather sofas, flat screen TV and DVD player plus wood burning stove. Each kitchen is fully equipped with an eye-level oven, combination microwave oven, induction hob, double sink, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, wine cooler and large fridge with freezer compartment, enabling budding chefs and family cooks alike to prepare simple snacks as well as full-blown feasts. The larger dining area seats ten, whilst a sliding glass door from here leads out to a covered sea view dining terrace for 14 with stairs leading down to the garden. The smaller dining area in the annexe offers a lovely intimate setting for groups of six.

Bedrooms

Sloopside has six bedrooms, sleeping up to 14 guests, one on the first floor and the remainder on the ground floor. Three master bedrooms come with en suite facilities; two have king size beds while the third benefits from zip and link beds which can be arranged as either twin singles or a comfy super king, if preferred. There are two further double bedrooms with king size beds (one of which is a zip and link so can also be arranged as twin singles, if required). Lastly, the children's room has two sets of full size bunks. All bedrooms enjoy sea views and, apart from the bunk room, have external doors giving access to the outdoors. All bathrooms are equipped with power shower, vanity mirror and heated towel rail.

Outdoor Space

Outside, there are two spacious gardens, mainly laid to law, A gate with steps down from the garden of the main house gives access to the lower annexe garden. The sea view balcony which runs the entire width of the 1st floor of the main house is complemented by a covered alfresco dining terrace.

Parking

The private on-site parking area can accommodate four cars with an additional space available on the hard standing at the front of the property.

Location

This holiday retreat boasts an impressive sea view setting along a quiet country lane in Bantham. With views of Burgh Island and Bigbury Bay to take in, guests will enjoy the charm of the surrounding South Devon coastline. The unspoilt village setting and friendly locals provide a sedate, scenic idyll in which to take in the year-round beauty and amusements of South Devon, as well as to take a step back and relax. The retreat is a short walk away from the local shop (200 yards) and the historical Sloop Inn (50 yards), which is well-known for its tasty fish & chips and other wholesome homemade cuisine. The holiday retreat is also a short stroll away from the famed Bantham beach, where walkers, surfers and water sport fans alike can enjoy soaking up this popular well-known beauty spot.

Guests can enjoy a whole host of activities away from the beach, including walking along the South West Coast Path to Thurlestone, golf at the scenic course at Thurlestone and also the course at Bigbury, fishing out along the river estuary and days out exploring Diggerland Devon, Thurlestone Sands (2 miles), Bigbury on Sea Beach (5 miles), Overbecks Museum & Garden (6 miles), Dartmoor Zoological Park and Saltram House & Gardens (both 10 miles), the Woodlands Leisure Park and Slapton Sands and Torcoss Beach (both 11 miles).

South Devon also invites you to enjoy wild swimming, kite surfing, SUP trips, kayak rental and more extreme outdoor pursuits, along the coast and in the Dartmoor National Park. Those seeking a chilled-out day can enjoy a traditional cream tea, a quirky train ride on the South Devon Railway steam train from Buckfastleigh to Totnes, a carefree moment in Kingsbridge or a trip out to admire the ships, shops and pubs of nearby Dartmouth and Salcombe. Further afield, historical Portsmouth offers a fascinating maritime heritage, whilst Exeter boasts retail therapy a' plenty.
