You can take the ferry to Instow, which is on the opposite side of the estuary, with its sandy beach, bars and restaurants, and the wide golden sandy beach of Northam Burrows and Westward Ho! popular with surfers, is just 1 mile. Bideford, Exmoor, Clovelly and Hartland Quay are close by, and the area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen, whilst walkers and cyclists will enjoy the famous Tarka Trail which passes close by. The North Devon Coastal Path is just a 5 minute walk from Cove Cottage, meaning almost immediate access to miles of dog friendly walks and stunning sea views. Young and old will enjoy crabbing off the quay and golf and riding is available locally. For family fun, The Big Sheep and Milky Way Adventure parks are close by, and for an adrenalin fuelled day, why not try the Ultimate Adventure Centre, or the North Devon Wakepark for water sports fun?
