The Wellies is a delightful character cottage tucked away in the pretty fishing village of Appledore. Wonderful views over the Taw and Torridge Estuary and out to sea can be enjoyed from the double room located on the 2nd floor with an unusual Velux Cabrio window which pushes out to form a small balcony area. The other two bedrooms a further double and bunk bedded room are located on the first floor along with the family bathroom. Due to the age and character of the property, care must be taken on both sets of stairs which are narrow and steep. Downstairs comprises of a main living room with multi fuel log burner, comfy seating and a step down to the living room which has its own multi fuel log burner, table seating 6 and two additional arm chairs. A few steps lead up to the conservatory style kitchen, with fold out table for four and doors to the fully enclosed outside patio area. The kitchen area is compact but well equipped, with slimline dishwasher and filter coffee machine. All the facilities of Appledore are within a short stroll with a selection of character inns, cafes, galleries and individual shops to be found along the Quay or in the narrow cobbled streets full of colourful fisherman's cottages.  Instow is a short drive or you can take the small ferry across the Torridge Estuary in season to this popular beach and watersports centre. The popular seaside resort and surfing beach of Westward Ho! is only a 10 minute drive whilst there is so much more to explore in this beautiful part of North Devon including large sandy surfing beaches, a rugged coastline with dramatic cliffs and coastal walks, picturesque villages and peaceful rural tranquility.
