The picturesque village of Buckland Filleigh nearby, as well as the national cycle route where you can join the entirely traffic-free Tarka Trail route that takes you through Great Torrington to Meeth.

The area of Buckland Mill itself is rich with wildlife and is perfect for bird spotters with cuckoo’s and woodpeckers being regular visitors, whilst you can spend the day at RHS Garden Rosemoor and roam around the beautiful gardens with arboretum and herbaceous borders. Alternatively, head south into Dartmoor and take in the luscious scenery of one of the most highly regarded Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK. The Woodshed is a perfect place to kick back and admire the stunning scenery that Devon has to offer, for those with a different focus, Tor View Vineyard is within a mile and Gotland Gin Distillery not much further away in Highampton, whilst two lovely local pubs both serving good food can be found nearby.
