Outside, you have your own little area (enclosed by an approx. 2 ½ ft wall/ picket fence) directly outside the front door, and a further separate garden area (not enclosed) located across the driveway which offers uninterrupted views of the picturesque moorland.  This area is furnished with two picnic benches and a built-in barbecue and is shared with Haretor Barn.

Walks from the doorstep are just the icing on the cake, with directing you past lakes to open moorland for some utterly stunning scenery.

Lydford Gorge with its amazing ravine and waterfall is managed by the National Trust and is a must-see, as is Lydford’s ruined castle.  With a cycle track, river for fishing and riding stables nearby, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activity, whatever the weather!

Tavistock, just 7.5 miles from the cottage, is one of the five Stannary towns of Dartmoor and offers plenty of amenities including cafes
