Dorset View is a well-regarded cottage offering stunning views, tranquillity, and a dog-friendly environment. Guests have praised its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and the enclosed garden. The property provides a peaceful retreat with easy access to local activities and pubs. Despite a few minor critiques, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests planning return visits.
The majority of guests have highlighted the cleanliness of the property, describing it as spotless and well-maintained. One isolated complaint about dampness in the shower room area does not significantly impact the overall high standard perceived by guests.
The location is frequently described as peaceful with beautiful views, ideal for relaxation and walks. Some guests mentioned difficulty in finding the property, but the use of what3words seems to mitigate this issue. The remote nature is appreciated by many, though it requires transport.
Guests have found the property to be comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and a good-sized bed, although a suggestion for a larger bed was made by taller guests. The garden and views contribute to the overall comfort and enjoyment.
The property is well-equipped according to guests, with a special mention of a power shower and kitchen amenities. Some minor feedback on maintenance issues like a loose frying pan handle and a desire for better outdoor lighting has been noted.

Dorset View is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty with breath-taking views overlooking the Blackmore Vale - Thomas Hardy’s ‘Vale of a Thousand Dairies’. It sits perched on a hill, 1 mile along the Wessex Ridgeway Trail from the top of Bulbarrow. Surrounded by an abundance of nature-filled footpaths and bridleways, it is an idyllic countryside setting. Half a mile below you will find the pretty village of Ibberton, which has a pub with the same name. A well-presented single-storey dwelling featuring a welcoming sitting room, a well-equipped kitchen/diner, and a private patio and garden, the property invites two guests and two well-behaved dogs, ideal for a romantic break away or country retreat. Make use of the spacious kitchen/diner to prepare and savour your meals, before retiring to the sitting room, featuring a beamed ceiling, plush sofas, a Smart TV and the most spectacular, far-reaching view. French doors lead you outside to the patio area with BBQ and your own private secluded garden. As sleep calls, refresh in the sleek shower room, before retreating to the well-presented double bedroom with homely interiors. If you can tear yourself away from Dorset View, the delightful village of Okeford Fitzpaine is 2.5 miles away with its pub, the Royal Oak, village stores and post office. A couple of miles further on you will find the village of Shillingstone, take advantage of a range of amenities, including the supermarket, petrol station and The Old Ox Inn. It was once on the Somerset and Dorset railway line and the village is proud of its beautifully restored station. Take a stroll around enchanted Fiddleford Manor. Bring your own bikes to enjoy the off-road network of bridleways right from your doorstep or opt for a thrill-seeking mountain bike experience at Okeford Hill Bike Park. Head South to the picturesque village of Milton Abbas, with its line of thatched cottages, often featured in Dorset calendars and postcards. Reachable by car, the market town of Sturminster Newton has a variety of shops and the Museum is a recommended attraction for budding historians, covering Dorset's heritage. You'll also have the chance to tour Sturminster Newton Mill, set upon River Stour. Travelling into the bustling Georgian town of Blandford Forum you will find a large variety of shops and eateries. It is the home of the famous family-owned Badger Brewery, dating back to 1777, which offers tours, a shop and refreshments. Blandford is also home to the Royal Signals and their regimental museum. The more adventurous can arrange a day at Gorcombe Extreme Sports, offering quad biking, paintballing and clay shooting experiences. Further afield visit the charming honey-coloured town of Sherborne with its Abbey, two castles and gardens. Another ancient town is Shaftesbury and its famous cobbled Gold Hill which featured in the 1973 Ridley Scott “Hovis” bread advert. The historic county town of Dorchester is also about 30 minutes drive away. The scenic Dorset Jurassic Coast is also easily accessible by car.
