Enclosed by glorious countryside and residing in the pretty village of Wool lies Lulworth Lodge, a wonderfully spacious holiday home accommodating up to 15 guests in the Dorset countryside. Boasting a private decked area complete with relaxing hot tub, outdoor furniture, guests of this countryside haven also have access to three acres of beautiful shared lawned grounds where children can play with the football net, basketball hoops and tennis table while you sit, relax, and watch the world go by. Inside, kick back in the main living/dining room where you can relax and unwind in front of the TV, before moving conversations into the kitchen/living dining space as the head chef of the group rustles up a tasty meal. An additional kitchen, which is well equipped with all you need for a self-catering stay, and the convenience of a downstairs shower room can be found on the ground floor. Moving upstairs, discover five light and airy bedrooms offering a flexible sleeping arrangement; two family rooms, one with a double bed and two sets of bunk beds, complete with an en-suite shower room, and one with a double bed and a single bed, as well as two double bedrooms and a twin room, all served by a bathroom and an additional shower room. Stroll into the centre of Wool to enjoy local shops as well as three pubs, butchers, a bakers and a train station, so you can leave your car parked up and make use of the public transport links, including the Jurassic Coast bus, which connects you easily to Poole and Weymouth. Visit the beautiful beach at Durdle Door and take a snap of the iconic rock formation rising from the sea and resembling a doorway, before having a dip in the clear waters to cool off after a scenic cliff top walk. A kayak tour can be arranged locally from Lulworth Cove and is a memorable experience to treasure as you are shown secret little pools, coves and beaches that are only accessible via the sea. The traditional seaside town of Weymouth is a short drive away and is a lovely day out for all the family, with its long stretch of golden sands, there are many attractions to keep those of all ages entertained; you can enjoy an ice cream along the pretty Georgian esplanade or tuck into fish and chips on the old harbour whilst watching the boats sail past. However you choose to spend your holiday in the delightful Dorset, Lulworth Lodge is an ideal base that you will look forward to returning to each day.
Wool, a small Dorset community, has its own railroad station and is connected to Poole and Weymouth by the Jurassic Coast bus (X54). The Woolbridge manor in the 17th century, where Tess of the D'Ubervilles spent her honeymoon in Thomas Hardy's novel, is located along the River Frome, which flows through the village. Just outside Dorchester, some 12 miles from Wool, is Thomas Hardy's Cottage, which makes for an interesting day trip. Along with the Tank Museum, Clouds Hill, the location of Lawrence of Arabia's residence, and the monkey sanctuary Monkey World, Wool is also close to some of Purbeck's most popular tourist destinations. You may visit West Lulworth, where the breathtaking geological wonders of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are located, after a quick 5-mile journey. Everything you need for a rustic hideaway in Dorset is available in Wool.
