This pretty studio conversation is nestled in the grounds of Whatley House in Beaminster, Dorset. Quietly tucked away from the main residence, ths property is approached through a private entrance shared with the owner. 

With exposed beams this property is ideal for couples looking for a quiet and relaxing break whilst still being just a short drive from the picturesque coastal town of Lyme Regis and the famous Jurassic Coast of West Bay and nearby Bridport town, famous for its artisan weekly market.  The property can be used as an ideal location for exploring the whole of the Dorset area. An easy walk along to the town centre with its selection of restaurants, shops, pubs and tea rooms, means you can forget the car and completely relax.

The country town of Beaminster nestles beneath the rolling West Dorset hills, around The Square you will find lovely cafes, restaurants and independent shops, along with traditional butchers, bakery, greengrocer, country florist and a little pet shop; you will find everything for your stay.  Summer hosts the popular Beaminster Festival  a packed program of music, drama and art events.

A must for walkers Beaminster is surrounded by public footpaths leading in all directions, for those with energy you can walk the many hills, you will be rewarded with stunning views to the coast and far reaching countryside.

Not far from Beaminster is the Elizabethan manor house of Mapperton, with its attractive valley garden. The house has been the home of the Earls of Sandwich since the Restoration of King Charles II. Concerts and various other events are held here. There are several other local gardens which are open to the public at certain times throughout the summer.  

The former Broadwindsor Farm is now a craft and design complex of shops and workshops with its own award winning restaurant. The Llama experience offers a guided walk through the Dorset countryside with llamas and alpacas, or perhaps you would prefer a Donkey Walking Adventure – not the sort of experiences one might expect in a West Country town.

Please note:

Due to the size of the property, it is only suitable for a maximum of 2 adults and a small dog. 

Serious cooks need to be aware of the kitchen limitations (this is a fold away cupboard arrangement - see accommodation section for details). This is an ideal base for those who only plan on preparing simple meals while on holiday.

Lounge/bedroom including sofa, TV (with Freesat channels), small dining table for two and 5ft king size bed.

En suite shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC.

Kitchenette (this will suit guests who are just preparing a simple meal), with two-plate hob mini oven, fridge with ice box, toaster and kettle.

Outside:

Gravel seating area with bistro table and chairs and accompanying garden bench.  The owner is happy for guests to enjoy the garden through the adjacent gate.

Private parking on a gravel drive.
