Nestled in the beautiful Cerne Valley, which is surrounded by stunning Dorset Countryside. Cerne Abbas is a pretty village with many attractive cottages and historic buildings and the added bonus of having three pubs; a village stores; and a tea room, just steps away from this delightful cottage. A short stroll away are the surviving buildings of the old Benedictine Abbey, namely the 15th century Abbey Guesthouse and the Abbot’s Porch. The nearby famous Cerne Abbas Giant carved into the hillside is a must see, or perhaps a visit to the local brewery. With numerous opportunities for enjoying excellent walks in all directions, Myrtle Cottage is perfectly situated for enjoying all of the delights this special part of Dorset has to offer.
Myrtle Cottage has a cosy and attractive sitting room, perfect for relaxing in front of the feature electric fire, reading a good book from the well-stocked bookshelves. The well-appointed open-plan kitchen and dining room has french doors out to the pretty courtyard garden, an ideal spot for enjoying your morning coffee or a tasty afternoon tea. On the first floor you will find the three comfortable bedrooms, the en-suite shower room and the separate family shower room. Outside is a pretty and sheltered courtyard garden.
The county town of Dorchester is just a 15 minute drive away and offers a large selection of shops, museums, restaurants and cafes, as well as a Roman Townhouse which welcomes visitors. The Jurassic Coast is an enjoyable 30 minute drive away with opportunities for coastal walking, swimming, paddle boarding and fossil collecting.
Whether you are seeking a relaxing break away, or a comfortable base from which to explore the wonderful countryside or outstanding coastline, Myrtle Cottage is the ideal choice for a family or couples retreat,
