The Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides a plethora of walking and cycling routes, as well as other attractions, including the ruins of Ruardean Castle awaiting to be discovered. The International Centre for Birds of Prey is also close by, as well as Wigpool Common, a 19 acre SSSI, making Meadowbank a great base for nature lovers to see many rare species of flora, fauna and birds. Those feeling more adventurous can visit Go Ape or go kayaking on the River Severn. Other places from the cottage, which are worth a visit includes the pretty village of Symonds Yat, the historic waterfront city of Gloucester and the Norman medieval castle ruin of Goodrich.
