During the centuries it grew to become one of the most prosperous farms in the area, and its present owners maintain the stunning gardens and outbuildings in keeping with the house. The cottages were sympathetically converted from a Cotswold stone byre, and retain many traditional features. Although Wi-Fi is availble in each property, due to the rual location the signal may be weak or intermittent. Cosy and comfortable, and with views over the magnificent garden and orchard, they provide a peaceful, countryside retreat and an excellent holiday base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and picturesque villages. Nearby Castle Combe is said to be the prettiest village in England, also famous for its motor racing circuit. Lacock is another picture postcard village, well loved by film-makers for its historical streets and buildings. Lacock Abbey was used in the Harry Potter films. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty enjoys easy access to the Cotswolds, Salisbury Plain and the Marlborough Downs offering stunning scenery for walking and cycling, and the Georgian Spa city of Bath is within half an hour’s drive. Shops and pub 1 mile.
