About this property

A trip to the Vintage House situated just a short walk from Aldeburgh in Suffolk has to be seen to be believed and is the perfect venue for a family holiday or two couples on holiday together. From the minute you step into the perfectly curated property, you are transported back to the 1920s with authentic furniture and fixtures and fittings but with all the creature comforts you would expect from a holiday home. The sitting room is warm and welcoming and has an inviting open fire as a focal point, making it the perfect spot to curl up together and get warm in front of the fire while planning your holiday activities. The stylish kitchen has an original ornamental range cooker as well as a functional cooker and fridge so you can prepare and serve up food for the whole party. When it’s time to eat, take a seat in the elegant dining room which comes complete with an open fire and is just made for gathering together for long, lazy meals. Continuing the 1920s and 1930s theme, there is even a room upstairs dedicated to telling the story of the house with memorabilia and photos for guests to look at, helping to give a fascinating insight into the house and its history. The gardens are a particular feature with ample lawns to the front and rear and a patio area with table and chairs in the south-facing front garden, perfect for alfresco entertaining. When it’s time for bed, take your pick from the two authentically presented bedrooms, a double and a twin, with a delightful bathroom which boasts a feature roll-top bath; make sure you get to have a long soak in it during your holiday! After a quick coffee in the morning, it's time to head out and explore. The vibrant town of Aldeburgh is just a short walk and has plenty to offer visitors from shops, pubs, cafes, boutiques and restaurants. Snape Maltings is a must-visit while you’re in the area with the concert hall the venue for the famous Aldeburgh Music Festival and next to it a carefully curated collection of boutiques and galleries worth a browse. Other seaside towns worth a visit include Southwold, Thorpeness, Dunwich and Great Yarmouth. Walks, hikes and cycle rides anywhere within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty promise to be rewarded with fantastic photo opportunities and if you like to get close to nature then there’s also RSPB Minsmere. Take a trip back in time with a visit to The Vintage House which promises a holiday to be remembered for all the right reasons.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!

21st century central heating, cooker, fridge and comfy beds. The roll top bath was impractical and unsafe as a shower. A stair carpet and rugs and curtains would improve the decor and not detract from the 1930s character of the house. The sofa and one easy chair was in need of repair.

Light switch in living room DANGEROUS.Floor board in bedroom DANGEROUS. Window DANGEROUS. Dustbin full to the brim when we arrived full of maggots.AND THE HELP FROM YOUR COMPANY WAS NONEXISTENT. And I am STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO CALL ME!

The beds were very comfortable with good mattresses which is unusual for a holiday let in our experience. Also the curtains were better than the usual holiday let so we weren't always woken up by the sun. The lack of laundry facilities came as a surprise and should have been highlighted on the listing with details of laundrette options. The house is infested with spiders and there were no dusters to clean them away with. Could have done with simple comforts: more coasters and side tables.
