About this property

Embrace nature with friends and family in this charming cottage in the quaint village of Dunwich. Enjoy relaxing walks through the surrounding countryside or along the coast, before refuelling in the cosy village pub or sharing a family BBQ in the beautiful garden. The seaside resort of Southwold is 9 miles away and the ancient market town of Framlingham is within 15 miles.

The characterful cottage is warm and inviting, with traditional furniture, rustic decor, and period features. The heart of the home is a spacious, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up delicious feasts using local ingredients and come together for memorable mealtimes as a group. In the evenings, relax in the cosy lounge, reading in the glow of the open fire or watching a film on the Smart TV. Completing the ground floor is a double bedroom, shower room, and utility room. The three remaining bedrooms are upstairs, one of which has a beautiful en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath. There’s also a family bathroom and an office area with a desk on the landing. A vast, enclosed garden envelops the property, with a lawn where children can play, a climbing frame, and a patio area with furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining.

The landscape surrounding Dunwich is a paradise for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. Enjoy remote hikes across the heath and through the forests at Dunwich Heath National Trust, or head to rspb Minsmere to marvel at the area’s rare seabirds. Dunwich has a charming, shingle beach that’s perfect for peaceful picnics on a summer’s afternoon. A 3-mile coastal walk leads to the idyllic village of Walberswick and from here you can hop on the foot ferry across to the popular resort of Southwold, where you’ll find a myriad of traditional seaside attractions.
