About this property

Look no further for the perfect combination of coast and countryside! Enjoying uninterrupted views of the surrounding meadowland, holidaymakers and their dogs will enjoy the endless walks in the area.

For a secluded holiday, take your partner to this wood cabin in Suffolk. You can even bring your dogs. Complete with a book wall and a shepherd's hut in the garden, this has everything you could need for a quiet holiday where you can take the time to cherish each other.

As you enter the cottage, you’ll find a large living area. The lounge/library flows into the dining area and then on to the kitchen. There’s a wood burner and French doors to the garden in the lounge/library so you can enjoy a story and sunshine or get cosy in the evenings. If you’d like to bring other guests, you can pull down a double bed so they can stay over – please mention this when booking. The downstairs is finished with a wood panel floor, lending a warm and welcoming atmosphere to the space. Head to the first floor to find your bedroom, a charmingly decorated double with a vaulted ceiling and an en-suite bathroom. You’ll see a gravel garden, enclosed by a fence and featuring a dining area and a shaded seating spot. Finally, visit the shepherd’s hut, a lovely space with a double bed, chairs and a pull-down table.

This spot is a walkers’ paradise, and you’ll find plenty of great routes from the front door. If you fancy being beside the sea, have a day out in Aldeburgh (12.5 miles) where there’s a long beach and a nice town so you can grab a bite to eat. Visit Snape Marshes (9 miles) for wildlife including ponies, kingfishers and otters, or try rspb Minsmere (8.5 miles) for bird watching and walks.

Barn Owl Retreat is a truly wonderful “get away from it all” place, that includes Wi Fi and any mobile phone signal (Vodafone, BT and Virgin) except at certain points in the house, however the surrounding beautiful countryside and free access to this overly makes up for any loss that you think you may have.

  • Mr Young

An excellent rural retreat finished to a high standard. Ideally located for exploring Suffolk. Views across the meadow were rewarding with sightings of deer, rabbits and hares. The bird feeders in the garden were visited by a family of woodpeckers, green finch, long tailed tits, blue tits, gold finch and blackbirds. A truly relaxing holiday and dog friendly too.

Lovely place to stay ideally situated for travel to the coast and numerous wildlife reserves.
