You enter the cottage into the welcoming sitting room, complete with a Smart TV and an alluring woodburner to keep you warm during those colder months. Just behind is the dining table where all can gather for mealtimes, prepared with ease in the large galley kitchen, fitted with a series of traditional and modern appliances so you can easily cook up a feast. The snug room offers a quieter spot to settle down with a good book or perhaps enjoy a family game from the selection provided. Climb the stairs and you’ll access the three bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower over so you can decide how to best prepare for the day. Outside there is an enclosed garden with seating space, ideal for soaking up the sunshine while the kids play on the grass. Clun is a charming Shropshire village which sits on the River Clun. Within the village you’ll find a pub, shop, café and the fascinating ruins of Clun Castle, established by the Norman lord, Robert de Say. Clun is also a popular location for walkers and cyclists, mostly due to the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Explore more the region with a visit to the medieval town of Ludlow, well known for its culinary heritage with a wide selection of renowned restaurants, tea rooms and independent food stores. Bishop’s Castle, Montgomery and Craven Arms are all with close reach and worth a visit too. A cosy cottage with plenty of period features in the picturesque village of Clun.
Defined as the ‘quietest place under the sun’ in A.E. Houseman’s poem, A Shropshire Lad, Clun is a rural gem situated in the South Shropshire Hills. The town is home to a dramatic ruin of a Norman Castle, Saxon church, a bustling river which flows under the 14th century pack horse bridge, and a wealth of walking and cycling routes which wind their way through the countryside. Close by to Clun are the historic towns of Bishop’s Castle, Ludlow and Shrewsbury, all worth visiting.
