The village of Trefonen is nearby with a pub/restaurant and shop. There are 4 National Trust properties within a 40-minute drive, including Powys Castle, Attingham Park, Chirk Castle and Erddig. Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway is an easy drive, as is Llangollen, famous for its Eisteddfod, white water activities, horse drawn barges and steam railway. Locally you can find the Llanymynech Limeworks Heritage Area and visitor centre, the British Ironwork Centre, Park Hall working farm, quad trekking, golf, clay shooting, paintballing and go karting. There is also easy access to Chester, Shrewsbury and Snowdonia. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
