Tucked away on the edges of the Peak District National Park in the village of Tean, Staffordshire lies Nutwood Cottage. Arriving at the property, a roadside parking space greets you, with additional free parking in the car park opposite the cottage; park up and make your way through the gated entrance and into the property. Stepping into the cottage, a homely living/dining room invites you in to kick off your shoes and settle in with your loved ones while the gas fire, surrounded by a traditional floral-tiled feature fireplace, warms the space around you. Moving through the property, the compact but well equipped kitchen provides everything you need to concoct delicious meals for your loved ones, including an electric oven, a gas hob, and a handy dishwasher to help with the cleaning up. When sleep calls, head upstairs to find your sleeping quarters; the cottage hosts a king-size bedroom and a single bedroom, each fit with plush beds and wardrobes to unpack your belongings. Back on the ground floor, a shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC offers a space for you to prepare for the day ahead. Outside, take advantage of the courtyard in the summer months as you sip a good glass of wine while you four-legged friend gives their legs a good stretch. If you can tear yourself away from your relaxing retreat, just on the doorstep of the cottage is The White Hart pub so why not treat yourself to a nice cold pint one evening. If you don't fancy cooking there are numerous takeaways including Tean Fish Bar, as well as The Ship Inn and The New Olive Tree for delicious pub grub. For days out while staying in the cottage, the renowned Alton Towers Theme Park is just a short drive away and is known for its thrilling rides, spooky dungeons and large array of other attractions within the site, perfect for all ages. The ever-popular Monkey Forest is also close by with free roaming Monkeys! There is so much to do within a short drive from Nutwood Cottage including Churnet Valley Steam Railway, Foxfield Steam Railway, Trentham Gardens, Croxden Abbey all of which are dog friendly. History buffs will not be left short for activities; Beamhurst Museum, World of Wedgwood and Gladstone Pottery Museum are both within easy reach of the cottage and offer an insight into the culture of the area in varying artifacts and exhibitions.Tutbury Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1569 is also close by. Avid walkers will enjoy a day of exploring Cotton Dell Nature Reserve, home to walking and cycling routes through the ancient woodlands, and The Roaches in Staffordshire,it’s loved by hikers and climbers alike.The impressively rugged and steep gritstone ridge is home to mythical mermaids and 15 metre natural gritstone clefts, so this is far more than your average countryside walk.It groups together two main gritstone outcrops, 'Ramshaw Rocks' famous for the 'Winking Man' rock formation and 'Hen Cloud' offering stunning panoramic views.With panoramic scenery which, on a clear day allows you to see much of Cheshire, Winter Hill in Lancashire and even Snowdon in Wales! Resting at the south-easterly edge of Stoke-on-Trent is the large Staffordshire village of Tean. The River Tean runs through the village and down towards Uttoxeter, while the surrounding areas are mostly rural or farmland. The village is split into Upper Tean, the larger of the two, and Lower Tean, and rests on the southern end of the glorious Peak District National Park. There are plenty of shops and pubs, with many attractions within and just outside of the village.
