A unique character property, surrounded by real history in the most wonderful setting next to Elsecar Heritage Centre and the trans pennine trail.. 2 steps to entrance.

Kitchen/dining room: With electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher.
Utiltity room/porch: With freezer and washing machine.
First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With double bed.
Bedroom 2: With 4ft single bed.
Bathroom: With bath with shower attachement, shower cubicle and toilet.. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Enclosed garden with sitting-out-area and garden furniture. Summerhouse with sofa, desk and fridge. Bike/equipment store. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced raised pond in the garden.. Situated within Elsecar Heritage Village on the border of Wentworth, this charming stone built cottage is perfect for couples and small families with or without their four legged friends. Next to Elsecar Heritage Centre, there’s a wonderful sense of history, hub of activity and general village ambience which you get to become a part of for the duration of your stay. The trans-pennine trail runs through the village meaning fabulous local walks and cycle routes are available nearby. You can walk to bird watching sites at rspb Old Moor along the trans-pennine trail, or to Elsecar reservoir and park.
Once inside you’ll find real character such as exposed stone and beams, and outside is an enclosed garden to relax at the end of the day. Elsecar Heritage Centre is packed with shops, cafés, delicatessens and antiques. There’s also a park, reservoir, nature reserve and even a camra awarded craft ale and bottle shop. If you want to explore further afield then it also makes an excellent base for exploring both Yorkshire and the Peak District National Park. Sheffield and Leeds are accessible by direct train from Elscecar station, for shopping, pubs and eateries. There are supermarkets and shops in Hoyland and at Corton Wood retail park. For indoor shopping the Meadowhall Centre is 15 minutes away by car or train. Wentworth Woodhouse is a hidden gem within walking distance through woodland. It is the longest fronted house in the UK (longer than Buckingham Palace), and has been used as the backdrop for several TV productions including Downton Abbey, The Irregulars, Victoria and Gentleman Jack. Other attractions easily accessible include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, which is 15 minutes, award-winning Cannon Hall, which is 20 minutes, and Chatsworth House, and Bakewell which can be reached in around an hour.
The area offers some excellent locations for outdoor sports, including easy access to Wharncliff crags for climbing or mountain biking. Stanage Edge and the finest gritstone climbing in the Peak District is accessible within an hour of the property. Fishing and golf available nearby, and there is a pub within a mile.
