About this property

Hornsea 2.6 miles. Resting in Seaton near Hornsea, May Rose Cottage is a stunning, traditional semi-detached cottage with charming rustic features. Close to the coast and vibrant market towns, the cottage welcomes a family or group of four to explore the wonders of East Yorkshire. Upon entering the cottage, you'll find three fabulous living areas to call your home-away-from-home; nestle into the plush sofas and armchairs in the sitting room, with wooden beams overhead and a beautiful, stone fireplace where the warmth of an open fire awaits. Whilst the group's chef prepares a tasty evening meal in the kitchen area, head to a quaint dining room with a traditional feature fireplace and set the rustic wooden table, the perfect setting for catching up with loved ones and toasting to your retreat. Two bright and airy bedrooms with plenty of storage space welcome you at the end of a long day, including a double with stylish décor and a snug twin room. Nearby you'll find a stunning, contemporary bathroom to start your day on the right foot; energise with a hot morning rinse in the walk-in shower or take your time with a warm bubble bath, all the while your towel toasts on the heated towel rail. Head into Seaton to dine in the Swan Inn, a welcoming pub with real ales, a beer garden and delicious home-cooked meals, or take a short drive to Wassand Hall; explore the fine Regency House, beautiful walled gardens, woodland walks and a park with views across to Hornsea Mere. The mere is a large freshwater lake surrounded by picturesque countryside, home to a plethora of birdlife and plenty of opportunities for fishing and sailing. Pack your beach essentials for a fun-filled day in Hornsea, with a tranquil Blue Flag beach to splash in the sea and soak up the sun, as well as a quaint promenade and Victorian folly, where guests can wander along for fish and chips and independent shops. The pretty market town of Beverley is a short journey away with the incredible St Mary's Church and the majestic Beverley Minster for avid historians to discover, whilst the town's market hosts a variety of fresh produce and independent makers. If you crave more coastal delights, journey further north to Bridlington; picnic on the sands of the pristine South Beach, visit the Bayle Museum, an 11th-century building now home to a museum of fascinating artefacts, or catch a performance at Bridlington Spa, a stylish Edwardian theatre with something for every guest. Whilst in Bridlington, be sure to visit Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast, a scenic stretch of white chalk cliffs for hiking, birdwatching and relaxing in one of the picture-perfect bays to escape the hustle and bustle.
