There are two village greens, the High Green and the Low Green, with the River Leven running alongside, making it a popular picnic spot in the summer months. The iconic Roseberry Topping, a 330 metre hill is just north of the village and commands a spectacular view. In the village are a good range of shops and inns, which, together with restaurants and cafes, cater well for holidaymakers. The village of Stokesley is a must visit, with cobbled streets, boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. Head to the Yorkshire heritage coastline with fishing villages of Staithes, Runswick Bay, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Saltburn with winding streets and where fish and chips eateries are plentiful.
