Historic almshouses and a chapel sit at one end of the green with beautiful Linton Church, falls and stepping stones a short walk away. In winter, enter into the Christmas spirit and enjoy the Dickensian Festival, where history comes alive with a range of historical markets, entertainers and food. Skipton is the nearest main town, just 10 miles away. It plays host to a bustling market, and at the head of its broad sweeping, cobbled high street, stands an impressive Norman castle. Skipton offers canal cruises, golf and an indoor swimming pool together with a wide selection of shops. The National Trust site of Fountains Abbey and the historic city of York make for enjoyable days out.
