About this property

Perched on the edge of Settle in North Yorkshire is

the small village of Giggleswick where you will find

the pretty, stone-fronted cottage, Grave Prospect. With a host of scenic walks from the doorstep, enjoy quiet strolls through meadow lands, down quiet country lanes and for the more experienced, there is of course the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. Benefiting from close access to the local amenities, roadside parking and acting as a gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Grave Prospect welcomes four guests and one well-behaved pooch to relish a memorable trip in North Yorkshire. Upon entering the property, kick back and unwind in a homely sitting room, complete with sumptuous sofas and a Smart TV so you can catch up on your favourite shows or indulge a movie night after a long day of exploring the Dales. Allow the designated chef to become acquainted with a well-equipped kitchen as they rustle up a feast for the whole family, ready to savour at the dining table for four. If you begin to tire, choose from either a neatly-presented double or a second-floor twin bedroom with TV, sofa and en-suite cloakroom to rest your head in; if you don’t want the evening to draw to a close just yet freshen up with use of the spacious shower room before heading to the local pub. In Settle itself you’ll find a wealth of amenities including several convenience stores and supermarkets where you can complete your food shop for the week, restaurants and many fantastic pubs including The Black Horse Inn which is right on your doorstep and perfect for refueling after an adventurous day. For a taste of history, spend the afternoon touring a range of exhibits at The Museum of North Craven Life or if you prefer to traverse the natural landscape, be sure to visit Scaleber Force Waterfall, Stainforth Force or take a relaxing stroll along the River Ribble to Queen’s Rock. Also within reach of the Three Peaks. Further afield, journey to Skipton and tour the weekly market, admire Skipton Castle or travel via canal boat to explore your stunning surroundings. Not too far away by car is Harrogate, hosting the Royal Pump Room Museum, Bettys Café Tea Rooms, infamous for its sweet treats, and superb shopping opportunities so you can treat yourself or your loved ones. For an unforgettable trip in charming North Yorkshire, stay at Grave Prospect.

In the midst of some of North Yorkshire's most magnificent countryside, the bustling market town of Settle is located at the south-western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, next to the largest outcrop of limestone in the country. In Settle, Tuesday is market day, when the plaza is crowded with stalls selling a wide range of goods and crafts. Local stores line the market square, which is dominated by The Shambles, a historic three-story structure with shops on the first two floors and houses above, and the Town Hall. A public pool and a good selection of eateries and bars are available. Throughout the year, the Victoria Hall hosts entertainment and various events including folk nights. The renowned Settle-Carlisle Railway travels through some of the nation's most breathtaking and inspiring upland landscapes. The surrounding Dales towns of Skipton and Malham, as well as natural wonders like Malham Cove and Gordale Scar, are both easily accessible. Settle is a superb starting point for exploring the Dales, the Lake District, and the Forest of Bowland because it is surrounded by wonderful walking terrain.

Really nice location , beautiful church nearby ,lovely walks with the dog and ideal base to travel to Hawes,Grassington,Waddington etc. Tastefully decorated too.

The only items would be lack of kitchen roll, and absence of a focal point such as a fire.

  • Helen

We didn’t find parking an issue, as you could park and unload, then find a spot. Will definitely return.
