Stepping inside to a welcoming entrance hall, the house is decorated in a soft colour palette with attractive artwork and accessories. The hall leads into the large living room where a cosy wood burner burns in inglenook fireplace. There is plenty of room for the whole family to snuggle up with a choice of comfy sofas and chairs and settle down to a family film on the Smart TV.

At the rear of the house, overlooking the pretty garden, you’ll find the kitchen/dining room. This beautiful kitchen is a perfect gathering place, with a large island, Aga cooker, granite worktops and all your mod cons, including an additional induction hob and electric oven for use in the warmer months when the Aga isn’t needed. A large farmhouse table sits by the patio doors looking out onto the garden, a great place to gather everyone for a hearty breakfast and plan the day’s activities. To the front of the property you will find a terrace with a secluded seating area, perfect for those summer months. Please aim to park cars on the driveway, which can accommodate at least three cars, if the space in front of the garage is used.

Externally, to the rear of the house, is a lovely walled garden, complete with a patio for dining. It’s a private space for a spot of lunch al fresco and, with a lawned area, perfect for games and picnics and keeping the children entertained.

A gentle 5-minute stroll is the local village inn, where a warm welcome is extended to locals and visitors alike, serving local ales and good pub food. If you’re a bit of a foodie there are several more excellent eateries in the area including an award-winning restaurant in West Witton. Carlton-in-Coverdale is one of the Yorkshire Dales National Park’s best kept secrets. From its elevated position it looks out across the fields towards the hills beyond, and the River Cover runs through the valley below. Carlton sits beneath Roova Crags to the south and Penhill to the north.

Nearby attractions include the Forbidden Corner, a great day out for all the family with its adventure gardens and restaurant. The bustling market town of Leyburn is 6 miles away, with an array of restaurants, cafés, pubs and two supermarkets. The village of Middleham, 4 miles, also boasts several pubs, restaurants and a well-stocked local shop. It is a lovely village renowned for its famous racing stables, ’The Gallops’, and its Norman castle which dates back to 1190. Head further up into Wensleydale to the market town of Hawes calling en-route to take in the spectacular site of Aysgarth Falls. Shop 4 miles, pub 50 yards and restaurant 3 miles.
