Margaret's Cottage in the Yorkshire Dales is highly praised for its stunning location, comfort, and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy warmth, and the welcoming owner. The picturesque views and direct access to walks are standout features. The local pub is a favourite among visitors. Some minor issues with water noise and dog odour are noted, but overall, guests are eager to return.
The majority of guests report the cottage as spotless and very clean. There is a single mention of a strong odour of dogs and some items not being as clean as expected, but these appear to be isolated comments within a sea of positive feedback.
The location is consistently described as stunning, with beautiful views and excellent walking routes directly from the cottage. The proximity to a friendly local pub and the peacefulness of the area contribute to the high score.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, cosy, and warm, with a well-stocked kitchen and pleasant garden. There are some concerns about hard single beds and a noisy water system, but overall, comfort levels are rated highly.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a full-size fridge freezer and a log burner being appreciated. However, there are comments about the lack of certain supplies and an eccentric shower, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.

This pretty stone-built, mid-terrace cottage, set on the edge of the small village of Low Row, boasts unrivaled views of the Swale river and valley. This Swaledale cottage is very cosy, featuring a relaxing wood burner, perfect for winding down in the evenings. The delightful sitting room, offers views of the garden and the magnificent Swaledale countryside, with a kitchen and dining area, as well as two welcoming bedrooms, one of which has fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. The garden at this Swaledale cottage is ideal for alfresco dining. Within a short walk is the village pub, which serves fine ales and good food, whilst three miles away is the popular village of Reeth, with a further selection of pubs. Just a short drive are the market towns of Hawes, Leyburn and Richmond. Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force, England's highest single drop waterfall, are all nearby, ensuring this Swaledale cottage is a perfect base for visiting the many attractions and towns the area has to offer.
A scattering of traditional farms and cottages make up the village of Low Row situated to the north of the River Swale. The village of Reeth just a short drive away dates back to Saxon times and became of sufficient size and importance to be mentioned in the Domesday Book. Its eighteenth-century houses and hotel clustered around the triangular village green make it one of the very popular Dales villages. Askrigg better known to millions as Darrowby in TV's James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small" is just a short drive away as well as Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force (England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft).
