This gorgeous cottage has wonderful features, with exposed stone walls, wooden beamed ceilings and a wonderful wood burner ready to give you a warm cosy welcome. Stepping inside this is a beautifully presented property, you have the perfect country cottage living room, with soft inviting sofas where you can watch the fire in the wood burner as you unwind after a day of adventure. The living room leads through into the kitchen, with a range cooker. This has an authentic rural feel, where you can rustle up something special using fresh ingredients, from locally caught seafood, to freshly grown vegetables and newly laid farm fresh eggs. The dining area is separate with a huge map of the area framed beside you, which can help you to plan your days ahead. The modern bathroom is on the ground floor, with a shower over the bath. You also have a utility room which can be used to store your muddy boots after walking. Upstairs you have two snug bed rooms, a master bedroom with wonderful views over the countryside as well as a twin room with zip and link beds which can be made up as a kingsize on request making this property versatile for couples as well as families and friends.
Outside you have a small garden at the front of the property, distancing yourself from the road and to the rear you have two lawned gardens. One either side of the gravelled parking bays. The second garden has a summer house. Out here you have garden furniture and a BBQ, making this an ideal spot to enjoy the sunshine. Cloughton has two friendly local pubs just a short stroll away. A little further along is Hayburn Wyke, a woodland walk with a waterfall cascading over the cliff top onto a secluded cove. There is an 18th-century coaching inn here, serving hearty meals as well as tasty desserts. Why not treat yourself to some food after a busy day of exploring? The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are scenic walking trails nearby, where you can take in the incredible views as you visit some of the prettiest towns and villages along the coast.
The wildlife here is incredible, at Bempton Cliffs and neighbouring Flamborough you will see thousands of nesting seabirds including gannets and colourful puffins. If you look carefully down into the sea you will see seals peering back at you as they bob in the waves. On the moorland you have beautiful red grouse as well as hundreds of pheasants who look incredibly elegant as they take to the air when startled by walkers. Watch the air for buzzards and owls, and on sunny days you may spot basking adders. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park has some delightful little villages amongst the vast stretches of heather strewn hills and valleys. There is also the ancient Dalby Forest which has brilliant cycle and walking trails to be explored. Enjoy the great outdoors and take in your surroundings whilst having the most incredible base to return to, making your holiday one to treasure. Beach 2½ miles.
