Tucked away in a quiet residential area, yet very central, the upper floors of this luxury property boast some delightful views of Whitby Abbey that are sure to wow.

Guests will also appreciate the wide range of convenience and specialist shops immediately on hand catering for all yur daily needs.

On entering the property, follow the stairs from the hallway down to the lower ground floor and make yourself at home in the superb kitchen; with its cosy woodburning stove, exposed brick chimney breast, scrubbed farmhouse table and beautiful stone flagged floor the space has a contemporary rustic feel that is immediately welcoming. There is an adjacent utility room.

Also on this floor, you’ll find a fantastic shower room with shower, basin and WC – wonderfully practical after a day at the beach.

To the ground floor there is a good size sitting room, with comfortable seating and TV/DVD, a selection of DVDs, books and games plus a state-of-the-art Sonos music system 3. The high ceilings and period coving add to the refined atmosphere. It is a lovely space to relax together, watch a movie or simply read the morning papers in tranquility.

An elegant curved staircase, with its polished original wood balustrade, leads to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms both with views towards the harbour – a large double bedroom with king-size bed with an original fireplace (decorative) and TV. There is also a twin bedroom with two full-size single beds. On this floor is a shower room with underfloor heating, shower, basin and WC.

Make your way up to the second floor and you’ll discover a gorgeous king-size double bedroom with TV, plus a twin with full size single beds. Look out for those stunning harbour and Abbey views from both rooms! Also on this floor, a smart house bathroom is furnished with an elegant free-standing bath – for the perfect pamper, don’t forget the chilled glass of fizz!

Step outside and enjoy your morning cuppa in the small garden area to the front. Or discover the little oasis situated to the rear of the property: a delightful enclosed courtyard garden, dotted with planters with flowers and small shrubs plus a table and chairs and a stone-built stand for disposable BBQs, lovely in the warmer months.

Whitby is a town best explored on foot, so take a stroll down to the harbour and see the boats come and go – pleasure trips are available daily along the heritage coast. Meander over the swing bridge into the ‘old town,’ following twisting cobbled streets, pausing a while to soak up your charming surroundings. If you are feeling energetic, climb the ‘199 steps’ to Whitby Abbey – you’ll be glad you did, the views there are spectacular.

Those wishing to explore Yorkshire’s stunning coastline are spoilt for choice. Head south to Filey for 5 miles of unspoilt sandy beaches or explore its rugged Brigg. The headlands around Staithes or Robin Hood’s Bay are also extremely beautiful. Inland, the North Yorkshire Moors are spectacular, whether heather clad or verdant. Seagull House is so well-located for a coastal holiday, you’ll be able to get the most out of every day with your family or friends.

Climb the famous 199 to the Whitby Abbey to immerse yourself with history, or visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum presenting historical and ethnographic exhibition about Cook himself.
