The ground floor sitting room has real period drama, its brooding ceiling décor is offset with beautiful lighting, painted wooden flooring, decorative open fireplace with tiled surround, plus sumptuous soft furnishings and artwork. What a refined space in which to unwind after a busy day sightseeing.

On the first floor is a luxury master double bedroom with king-size bed, and stunning free-standing, roll-top bath – so romantic, with space for two - don’t forget the fizz.

Upstairs is another restful second floor double bedroom and a bathroom that feels like a boutique hotel, with bath, hand held shower, basin, WC and chrome radiator.

Take the stairs to the top floor where a cute twin room is nestled in the eaves.

From your fantastic West Cliff location, stroll down to the pretty harbour – with its famous swing bridge – and enjoy a special meal in one of the award-winning restaurants. It’s so handy, only 5 minutes’ walk. The beach nearby is sandy and golden with some breathtaking sunsets over the bay. Don’t leave Whitby without visiting St Mary’s Church and iconic Abbey, challenge the kids to see who’s quickest to climb the famous ‘199 steps’ to reach the top!

Nearby, the fishing villages of Staithes, Sleights, Runswick and Robin Hood’s Bay are worth visiting. Stretch your legs and enjoy a walk along the beach from Whitby to Sandsend at low tide, calling in at one of the welcoming cafes there.

Whitby is a charming and atmospheric town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches and of course the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.
