Windy Bank Hall makes an excellent base for exploring both Yorkshire and the Peak District National Park, being just a 10-minute drive from the M1. The small town of Stocksbridge is very close by, and is home to ample pubs, eateries and shops including those at the unique Fox Valley shopping outlet. The market town of Penistone is around a 10-minute drive away, with a good selection of shops, pubs and cafés, as well as a train service to the bright lights of both Manchester and Sheffield. Around a 20-minute drive will take you to the breathtaking Holme Valley, and wonderful bustling Holmfirth, which is most famous as home to Nora, Compo and Cleggy in TV’s ‘Last of the Summer Wine’.
Other attractions easily accessible include the award-winning Cannon Hall, 20 minutes away, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, 25 minutes away, Chatsworth House and the ever popular market town of Bakewell which can be reached in around an hour.
