From the wood burners in the living room and hallway to the warm and calming furnishings throughout the house, this is a real haven of relaxation. The spacious living room, with its comfy sofa’s is ideal for gathering together on after a busy day out, and the stylish kitchen, with a further woodburner, has wooden work tops and bi-fold doors opening onto to an enclosed sitting-out area at the bottom of the garden. From here are several steps up to a brilliant covered decked area and a treehouse!

Auchenblae is a popular village in the Howe of the Mearns, a scenic agricultural area in south Aberdeenshire, which has much to offer the visitor. The village has a quirky 9-hole golf course, a well-stocked village shop and licensed cafe. In addition, a short walk from the house is ‘The Den’, a lovely park with children’s play areas, tennis court and bowling green. Just 40 mins from Dundee and Aberdeen, the village is ideally placed for touring the region, and is within easy reach of the coastal towns of Montrose, Arbroath and Carnoustie, all with fabulous sandy beaches.

Just 2 miles from Auchenblae lies the glen of Drumtochty, an area of stunning beauty, with multiple forest trails popular for walking and mountain biking. A very scenic drive over Cairn o’ Mount, which has marvellous views over open countryside to the sea, takes you to Royal Deeside with its Victorian Heritage Trail, running from Edzell to Balmoral. En route, Fettercairn Distillery is well worth a visit for some of the amber nectar. Only 10 miles away, the historic seaside town of Stonehaven is within easy reach and boasts a variety of amenities for further shopping, leisure activities and even a popular seasonal outdoor swimming pool as well as a beach and picturesque harbour. Beach 12 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 5 miles.

There is a step from the hallway to the study and 12 steps to the decked area from the lawned garden. The bed in bedroom 2 is a ¾ double sleeping 1 guest and all the bedrooms on the second floor have sloping ceilings.
