Auchiries is a tiny hamlet in a beautiful part of Scotland, and offers many activities for the discerning visitor, including walking, golfing, and fishing. Tigh-Na-Mhor is situated just off the main Aberdeen road and just 1½ miles away is Cruden Bay, with its sweeping expanse of pink sands and dunes. This sandy beach is popular with day trippers, water sports enthusiasts and is great for sea fishing. A little further along on the coast lie the remains of Slains Castle, once a place where celebrities were entertained in the 19th-century, the most notable of which was author Bram Stoker, and it is believed the castle was the inspiration for the setting of ‘Count Dracula’.

To the east and just 13 miles away lies Mintlaw, home to Aden Country Park. Recognised as one of Scotland’s top green spaces, the park is a popular spot for walkers, cyclers and families thanks to its picturesque surroundings and busy events calendar. Golfers will appreciate the areas many extensive and challenging professional course that are in the area, including Cruden Bay Golf Club founded in , making it, by its own claim, the 18th-oldest golf club in the world, and International Golf Links in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
