What a wonderful quirky and cosy cottage just perfect for couples who are looking for something a bit different, a wonderful choice for exploring the dramatic coastline of the North East. The property sits in an elevated position in the coastal village of Gardenstown, known for its quaint harbour and traditional fishermans cottages which cluster round the base of the cliffs, giving the village shelter from prevailing winds. There are marvellous sea views over the bay at the front of the property as well as from the colourful terraced garden at the rear. There are several sitting out areas on different levels, where guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and drink in the spectacular views.
Inside, the cosy ambience is enhanced by thick walls, a wood burner in the living room and beamed ceilings. On one side, the open plan living room leads through to a kitchen and dining area, while on the other, a door takes you into a small conservatory where you can relax with a good book. The bedrooms upstairs both feature small but perfectly formed en-suite, with one of them featuring a roll top bath in the bedroom itself.
Ideally placed for touring this unspoilt area, as well as in Gardenstown itself, there are sandy beaches at Cullen, Nairn and Findhorn further along the coast. Golf is also widely catered for, with several excellent courses a short drive away. With the Whisky and Castle Trails beckoning close by, the area has widespread appeal. Macduff Marine Aquarium features the diverse marine life of the Moray Firth, while a few miles past MacDuff is historic Portsoy, known for its annual Boat Festival. Discover pretty churches and cottages, castles and cliff top walks, seabirds and quiet beaches all along the coast, from Aberdeen to Inverness.
