Experience Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park at its best, with every kind of outdoor activity on hand, from gentle low level strolls to strenuous mountain climbs through spectacular scenery. The West Highland Way takes you along the banks of Loch Lomond and runs from Glasgow to Fort William and you can join different stretches of the route. There are also lots of opportunities for mountain biking and cycling on the national Cycle Network route 7 and fishing in lochs and rivers. Enjoy boating and sailing on Loch Lomond, relax and take in the splendid scenery on a cruise up the loch and visit the islands. If you enjoy a round of golf on your holidays there are several excellent courses locally, including the Carrick. Nearby and a great day out for all ages, Loch Lomond Shores has a sea life aquarium, water sports, shopping and regularly hosts events including a farmers market. Ideal for a day out is the bustling city of Glasgow, just 30 miles away, packed with great places to eat, galleries, concert halls, theatres and great shopping from high street names and one off independent’s to quirky specialists.
