The cottage has been modernised and equipped to provide a perfect holiday base from which to explore all that the town and local area has to offer. Whilst the cottage is in a hidden part of the old town, assuring peace and tranquillity, all facilities are within a short walk . Moffat itself nestles within the Southern Upland Hills and the area is recognised as being one of outstanding natural beauty, but yet within easy reach of Edinburgh and Glasgow and other popular Border Towns including Hawick and Melrose.

Moffat has numerous independent quality shops and leisure facilities, including a well laid out town park with pond. There are good riverside walks and also direct access to the Southern Upland Hills. The famous Devil's Beef Tub from historic Drovers folklore and legend is within easy reach and is well worth a visit to allow yourself to be immersed in the historic culture of this Borders area.

Edinburgh and Glasgow are both within easy reach for day trips to visit Glasgow Science Centre, the Transport Museum, Kelvingrove Art Gallery, the Burrell Collection and Scotland Street School, the Scottish Parliament, Botanic Gardens, Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh Castle and of course Princes Street for shopping as a few suggestions. If you are looking for more leisurely outdoor pursuits then the National Trust for Scotland's Grey Mare's Tail site is a short drive away with a superb waterfall and loch side walk. The Dawyck Royal Botanic Gardens are within a short distance with a superb showing of Azaleas and Rhododendron at the right time of the year. Whatever your interests the cottage provides a superb central location from which to discover all that Scotland has to offer.
