Situated in a peaceful location with stunning views over open countryside, this spacious steading is located on the outskirts of Thornhill, and makes an ideal holiday base from which to explore the surrounding area. Local attractions include Drumlanrig Castle, the home of the Duke of Buccleuch, and Queensberry, with a superb art collection, beautiful gardens and extensive country park. Nearby is Thornhill with shops, hotels and an 18-hole golf course. The nearby Mabie Farm Park with quad bikes and astro turf slides also makes a great day out. The Galloway Forest Park and The Mabie Forest, both close by, are famed for off-road cycling and walking, with the Seven Stanes and National Cycle Network also passing nearby. Watersports are available at Loch Ken whilst golf, fishing, pony trekking and bird watching can all be enjoyed locally. Within Dumfries there is excellent shopping as well as a selection of cafes and restaurants. The coastal Solway area has many varied towns with art, craft and antique shops and museums to visit, as well as beautiful sandy or rocky beaches to explore.
