Hilton Farm Steadings is the perfect location in Central Scotland for couples, a group of friends or families to spend time together and explore this attractive area. Located on the north shores of the River Forth on the outskirts of the port town of Rosyth, there are lots of places to visit for all ages. It is a delightful semi-detached stone cottage, finished to a very good standard, with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Part of a steading conversion and set around a shared courtyard, the cottage benefits from a private enclosed lawned garden.
The charming coastal villages of Limekilns and Charlestown can be reached in under 5 minutes. There are sandy beaches, old harbours and great views of the Forth Bridges across to Edinburgh. With frequent trains from the local railway station you can be in the centre of Edinburgh in less than 30 minutes. The location is ideal for attending many events including the Military Tattoo and International Festival with world class performers and free street performers. The historic city has a great abundance of attractions including the magnificent Edinburgh Castle, and Princes Street with shops galore.
In the area and within a short drive are many historic houses and castles including Dunfermline Palace and Abbey, the final resting place of Robert the Bruce and 11 Scottish kings! If you follow the epic TV series Outlander, then many of those locations used can be reached in less than an hour including Culross, Hopetoun House and Linlithgow Palace.
Golf is also widely available as the area has some excellent local courses and the famous golf course at St Andrews can be reached in less than an hour. For walkers, the nearby Fife Coastal Route offers miles of coastal paths along the shore of the Firth of Forth to old harbours, sandy beaches and old fishing villages. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
