Nestled on the Applecross Peninsular, this wonderful home boasts picturesque views and makes a great base in the Northern Highlands all year round.. Ground Floor:

Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced stream in the garden, 20 yards away. Please do not use the bridge to cross the stream.. The views are sublime. You can see the red and black Cuillin on the Isle of Skye as well as the dramatic east coast of the Isle of Raasay. There are many other smaller isles in sight too. It’s one of the best coastal views you’ll get from a holiday home. Brackenhill has a large garden that wraps around the property, ideal for a family to spend time in relaxing and exploring. There’s even a burn that runs through the garden and also a magical woodland where wild mushrooms can be picked. It’s truly an outstanding place to sit, relax and soak up an other-worldly view.

Entering Bracken Hill through the front door you arrive into a hallway that has plenty of space for coats and boots, perfect after long days out exploring. The hallway leads to the left and right, with most of the accommodation off to the right. On the left though is the best bedroom in the house, a double with an en-suite shower room, boasting the best view in the house out across the sea to Skye. Back to the hallway there’s another double bedroom and a twin room, as well as a family bathroom.

The kitchen is a good size and offers what you need to rustle up hearty meals after days out exploring Applecross. The living/dining room is an excellent space, double aspect and very spacious, there’s an enormous amount of light that pours into the room, and the views, as now expected from Brackenhill, are sublime. It’s a very comfortable space and everyone will enjoy gathering here at the beginning and end of the day to plan and recharge respectively.

This part of Scotland, the Applecross Peninsula, is a year round destination, as the seasons have such a dramatic effect on the landscape. Being based at Brackenhill puts you centre stage to explore this truly magical part of the Scottish Highlands. The sea is very close, only a few minutes’ walk from the house. It’s a good swimming spot with calm waters due to the Inner Sound being sheltered by islands from the Atlantic swells. This calm body of water makes it a haven for wildlife. Wandering down to the shore you have a great chance of spotting dolphins, porpoises, seals and otters, as well as the humungous sea eagles that patrol the shoreline of Applecross. The nearest supermarket is 20 miles away but there is a local shop just 2 miles from the property. Beach 800 yards. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
