Nia Roo is a wonderful stone built cottage very conveniently situated in the village square in the popular village of Tomintoul. Surrounded by the most glorious scenery, Tomintoul is the highest village in the Cairngorms National Park and is a popular destination for walkers and nature lovers who revel in the wide open spaces of this magical part of Scotland.
The cottage is centrally located within the village, just a short stroll from the local artisan shops, tearooms and restaurants, so a great choice if you don’t want to drive after a meal out. Yet beyond the village lie the Cairngorms and the Cromdale Hills - a wild and beautiful place teeming with wildlife. Many outdoor activities are set here – from 4 x 4 driving and clay pigeon shooting on the Glenlivet Estate, to mountain biking trails just out of the village and of course skiing in winter months at nearby Lecht or Cairngorms Ski Centres.
In the heart of the Whisky Trail, there are many famous distilleries within a 30 mile radius, from Glenlivet to Macallan, Glenfiddich and Glenfarclas. But for a complete change of scenery, within an hour you can also be on the beautiful Moray coast with its long sandy beaches of golden sands around Lossiemouth, Nairn and Hopeman.
