The cottage is ideally located in the Victorian tourist town of Crieff which is surrounded by magnificent Perthshire countryside. Originally the stable to Ruberslaw House dating back to the later 1700s, the cottage has been extensively refurbished and tastefully decorated for comfort and ease, and creates a wonderful atmosphere for a relaxing holiday for a couple. Curl up on the large cosy sofa in the open plan living area, the kitchen is fitted with contemporary appliances and well-equipped for preparing a romantic meal and there is a handy utility room to store your outdoor equipment. There is a very attractively presented kingsize bedroom with colour co-ordinated soft furnishings and a comfortable warm bathroom.

If you prefer to eat out then you are just minutes’ walk to the town centre with a great selection of cafés, restaurants, pubs and independent shops and galleries. Crieff is a good all year round destination with regular social events and activities including a farmers market, Highland Games, traditional Scottish music festival and Drovers Tryst Walking Festival. Tourist attractions nearby include The Famous Grouse Whisky Distillery, Innerpeffry Library Scotland’s oldest free lending library and Drummond Gardens, fabulous formal gardens used as a location for the epic TV series Outlander. Ideal for walkers and cyclists, from your front door there are many established public footpaths and cycle paths through magnificent scenery. Stroll beside the River Earn following Lady Mary’s Walk, up to Loch Turret.

For guests who prefer more strenuous activities, Perthshire mountains including Ben Vorlich, Ben Chonzie and Ben Lawers offer excellent walking and mountain biking. Water sports are available on Loch Earn all surrounded by stunning scenery. There are over 20 golf courses in lovely locations within 20 miles, including the famous Gleneagles and the local courses in Crieff and Muthill for guests who enjoy a round of golf on their holidays and with Perth, Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow easily accessible for day trips Ruberslaw Cottage is the perfect location for exploring the local area and beyond.
