This delightful, detached, self catering, traditional log cabin is situated on the small picturesque Balviag Estate, in the Victorian village of Strathyre. Set in natural park land with mature Scots pines, and at the foot of Ben Sheann with plenty of grassland for children to play on and explore. There is a charcoal barbecue available (no fuel provided) to dine alfresco on those summer evenings. The River Balvaig flows at your back door and free fishing is available for a maximum of 2 rods. Just a short walk to the village with a playground, village shop and pub serving food. There are endless miles of forest roads and trails to explore, both for walking and cycling, from a gentle stroll on the shores of Loch Lubnaig to a vigorous hike to the summit of Ben Ledi or a relaxing boat trip on Loch Katrine. The tree-clad slopes around the village which sweep down to the shores of Loch Lubnaig change from spring greens to autumn russets and golds making the surroundings spectacularly beautiful all year. The area is also rich in Scottish history with many stories relating to Rob Roy Macgregor, whose grave can be found in the kirkyard at Baquhidder. Within easy driving distance are Loch Lomond, Gleneagles is approximately 50 minutes away and Stirling is approximately an hour away. Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth approximately 1½ hours away. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
