The Wee Gem Cottage is a most charming and unique detached cottage with an inkpot style architecture and perfect for two guests. It’s bijou and stylish making it a very cosy, comfortable holiday home. Situated in the crofting township of Back, just a short drive from the town of Stornoway which has much to offer in shopping, restaurants, leisure centre, golf course, An Lanntair, Lantern art centre and cultural venue, Museum an Eilean at Lews Castle which has fabulous grounds and woodland walks. Only minutes from the pristine sandy beach of Broad Bay and a short drive from Tolsta Beach which is one of the premier beaches on the island and there is a good walk over the ‘Bridge to nowhere’ along the coast.

Enjoy days out visiting the historical sites of the Callanish Stones, Carolway Broch, Ness Heritage Centre, Bosta and Great Benera and Blackhouse Village, or just enjoy the pristine sandy beaches on the west coast such as Uig Bay where the famous Lewis Chessmen were found. There is an abundance of wildlife, a birdwatcher’s paradise and there is also loch and sea angling. The landscape and seascapes will truly amaze you. Boat trips depart from Stornoway, Uig and Great Bernera for whale/dolphin watching and also further afield to the Shiants and St. Kilda. Beach 1 mile. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 5 miles.
