Resting in the bustling town of Beaumaris, on the iconic Isle of Anglesey is Bwthyn Bryn Gwyn. This beautifully-presented whitewashed cottage boasts a spacious multi-level garden with patio, furniture and a barbecue, a woodburning stove, a stunning central location and sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms; one well-behaved dog is also welcome, making it the perfect setting for a small family or couple seeking a seaside retreat in Anglesey. After a busy day exploring the coast, kick off your sandy shoes and unwind on the plush grey sofas, flick on the TV while the woodburning stove warms your feet; stay snuggled up while your partner rustles up a hearty meal in the fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy this meal together or as a family at the dining table with room for everyone, or if the sun is shining why not indulge in a spot of alfresco dining in the multi-level garden? Soak up the last of the sun here with a glass of wine in hand before retreating to the first floor where a king-size room with handy en-suite facilities and a double room await; there is also a sleek tiled ground-floor bathroom available. Be sure to get some well-earned rest before another fun-filled day in Beaumaris. Bwthyn Bryn Gwyn boasts a central location in the town meaning attractions such as the impressive Beaumaris Castle and Gaol are just a stone’s throw away; you could also venture to Beaumaris sea front where you can take a boat trip across to Puffin Island to see seals, puffins and other local wildlife. Be sure to refuel at one of Beaumaris’ many restaurants including The George & Dragon or treat yourself to ice cream from Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour. Venture slightly further to Menai Bridge to brush up on local history at the Menai Bridge Heritage Museum, or take the kids to Anglesey Sea Zoo, home to over 150 species. The cottage is also a short drive from Holyhead which affords regular ferries across to Dublin, where you can experience Ireland’s capital and its many attractions. Bwthyn Bryn Gwynt is perfectly located for guests looking to explore the wonders of Anglesey.
On the Isle of Anglesey, Beaumaris is a well-known historic town that boasts one of the most breathtaking sunrise views thanks to its location on the Menai Strait. It is a major yachting centre and is also known for its historic buildings, including a castle from the time of Edward I that is now a World Heritage site, as well as a pier, gaol, and courthouse that were built in the Victorian era. The street layout of mediaeval Beaumaris has been preserved in large part. The town's atmosphere, architectural variety, time periods, scale, open areas, roof types, and overall quality all play significant roles in shaping its unique personality. In addition to a golf course and a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and bars, the city also offers a chance to go fishing and take boat tours. Along the coast, there is a large bay known as Red Wharf Bay, also known as Traeth Coch (Red Beach) in Welsh. At low tide, nearly 25 square kilometres (10 square miles) of sand are exposed in the bay, making it ideal for safe swimming, great for families, and fantastic for fishing and long, scenic strolls. A bit further away is the port of Holyhead, which offers frequent ferry service to Dublin. Beaumaris, on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, is a great central base from which to explore Wales, and the spectacular Snowdonia Mountains are within easy reach.
