" The cottage was lovely in a nice quiet spot, handy for the local pub. Will definitely recommend it. "
    Mr Bufton – 1 May 2021
"The owner lived next door and was helpful but not intrusive. Its ideal to discover north wales. With fantastic beaches and walks as well as llanduno. You read in reviews about vehicle access but don’t it’s ok we had no problem and saw vans delivering up the hill just take your time,We wish to thank Robin and Fiona for a great week."
    Mr Jones – 1 Apr 2021
"the road up to it is a bit hairy (don't take a large car!), but the cottage is perfectly clean and very well-provisioned. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay there and would be looking to go again."
    Mrs Regan – 1 Sep 2020
" Cosy little cottage with amazing views enjoyed from the lovely patio area. It was like a home from home, very comfortable with all home comforts and more. Exceptionally clean with the owners taking all recommended precautions to the highest degree. Very short walk to the 2 local pubs and lots of lovely walks on the doorstep ( we had 2 dogs with us). Would definitely recommend. "
    Mr Williamson
" Fantastic views of the countryside and coastline. Very peaceful in the evening so quiet great to relax. Our hosts robin/fiona were there if we needed them they were brilliant. Its our second time there we will definitely be going back. Xx "

"Would highly recommend this cottage. The views were exce!lent. Next time we would come in the spring"

" Perfect getaway and opportunity to explore the region. "
    Mr Bristow
" The views from this cottage are superb we loved it! "
    Miss Nickless
" E parking on village hall - full most of the time only four or five spaces in any event and parking on the road unsuitable as narrow roads and residents parking. The living room tired and not much space - for 2 adults & 2 dogs Lack of things to do unless you drive - two pubs within walking distance both lack atmosphere neither do food so unless you want to cook yourself you have to drive for a meal out "
    Mrs Price
" The garden was a plus and our dogs loved it, but it was Also nice that it was enclosed and secure. It was lovely after a day out to come back and sit in the garden with a coffee, and watch the world go by. Seeing the harvest moon rise was a sight I will never forget ~it was spectacular. The bed was absolutely huge and extremely comfortable, and the furnishings were within keeping of a cottage of that age. Carrying our luggage up from the village car park was a struggle initially, as the lane is VERY narrow just before the cottage, and we didn’t feel confident enough to drive up the last part to get to the private driveway, however by the next day we had learned to master it with care. The kitchen had plenty of cooking equipment in it and plenty of crockery. It also had 2 frying pans which were true to their description of being non stick! We were also gifted a Bara Brith plus tea coffee milk and sugar for our arrival. There were also lots of other kitchen items such as cling film, washing up liquid, fabric conditioner, work top spray, dishcloths, foil ,kitchen towels and tea towels ~ all provided for us !!! The cottage is really close to some lovely places. Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno, The Great Orme, Rhos on Sea, and Colwyn Bay are minutes away, and we visited all of these several times. The village pubs are literally 2~3 minutes walk away, and very welcoming. There’s another pub about 1mile away which also does food too. Anglesey, Bettws Y Coed, and Llanberris are all stunning and well worth the visit, and there is so much more to see and do. For rainy days there’s a small book library or dvds at your disposal, plus cards and other games. The owners Robin and Fiona live next door to the cottage, and are there on hand for any problems you may have-but you are given total privacy to enjoy their property, which is really nice. It felt really homely there. All in all it was a peaceful relaxing break, spent in a beautiful part of Wales. "

" The sofa & matching arm chair we very soft and took up too much space, in fact most of the space. Siting on a dining chair was not what we expected to have to do on holiday. It was difficilt for one person to sit at the table & the other to try & get past to get to the bedroom. The table was smaill and no lighting near it to do jigsaw or read a book. Lighting in the living room was very low and inadequate. It seems the cottage is loved by dog owners and by those who eat out or sit on the sofa in front of the log fire & watch TV. The bedroom was excellent and the shower/toilet/wash room. The kitchen well equiped except for the old cooker, the grill and oven were unacceptable. Owner was very nice. The road up to the cottage was challenging and the owner guided us up there. It was single track, very narrow with tight bends. That should be mentioned in your description. On the plus side: It was very near our family who we were visiting, and friends at a local church. Hilltop walks from the door. Lovely prom walks & beach at Colwyn Bay. "
    Mrs Tanner
" Everything you could need for your holiday. The owner even left us a small selection of delicacies to taste. The views from the kitchen and patio over Penrhyn and local area including the sea makes this holiday special - a set of binoculars for use would have been really useful. All in this is one of the nicest cottages l have stayed in. "
    Mr Meek
" Our first experience of North Wales. The cottage was very pleasant and the bed was the best we have ever experienced in all the years of self-catering cottages. The basin in the bathroom would benefit from being an inch or two deeper and with a plug that seals. Kitchen well-appointed but a more modern cooker (with better temperature control) would be better. Anyone who likes old pubs would love the Old Penryhn Arms, which is in walking distance. All in all a very positive experience. "
    Mrs Tinarwo
" . would have booked for the following weeks as needed a cottage in the area but unfortunately it is fully booked.. a very beautiful place with beautiful views of Llandudno .. will certainly come back again.. "
    Mrs Nuttall
" Directions and key location, excellent. Ample room for everything. More kitchen appliances and utensils than expected, even a washing machine, plus everything worked! Bonus! very good value for money. Very comfy huge bed! Even tea, coffee, sugar and bara brith on arrival. Lovely decor, bedding and towels of high quality. Very pleased with our stay. We have stayed in many places, and have found that with the dog as a paying guest also, the accommodation is of a much lower standard, but not in this case, well done "
    Mrs Parker
"Owner was very friendly and met us at the village hall to show us the way up to the cottage when we arrived. I soon got used to the narrow approach! Would recommend"
    Mrs Tucker
"Spotlessly clean and well equipped. The local pub was five minutes walk away and very welcoming."
    Ms Coates
"Fantastic location with views overlooking both the sea and the mountains from the small patio area. Just a short stroll to two dog friendly pubs and around a twenty minute walk to another pub serving excellent food. The facilities within the cottage were great and a lovely touch to have cake, milk, tea and coffee provided. We really couldn’t fault anything!"

"It is not far away from a quiet beach in the bay, perfect for winding down ( or cooling off if you are a dog ) after a busy day sight seeing. We were welcomed with everything to make that first cuppa and slices of the best Bara Brith. Safe patio area for dogs and a warm welcome at the Cross Keys pub only minutes away from the cottage where dogs are welcome. The cottage on the hillside means you have to embrace the adventure of driving up hill with tight corners but the shared parking is a plus. We managed it with a Landrover Freelander 2. Our hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area."

"The sea view is obscured by the owners hedge so a little disappointing as this was one of the reasons for choosing this cottage. I expect it is for their privacy at the expense of the cottage's view. The sofa is old and very uncomfortable. Shame, as sitting in front of the log burner on the cold rainy afternoons would have been idilic. Leaving a cottage in a clean and tidy condition is a given but being informed on where all the cleaning materials and hover are and requested to clean the cottage for the next guests is not what I expected."

"The access is fine, you just need to get used to the narrow lane after the first couple of times there is no problem, a small car is also helpful however! The cottage is well equipped and sufficiently spacious for two people. The large bed is the most comfortable I have slept in in a long time. Plenty of eateries and shops in close proximity for all needs. A very peaceful property."

"This was the perfect retreat for my wife and me. Although the cottage is in a tightly packed narrow street, it is peaceful and feels very private, with wonderful views. The little patio at the front is strategically hedged off from others, but with clear views across the countryside and sea as one sits at the garden table. The cottage itself is of genuine historical interest, but is thoroughly modern in its facilities. It is clean, and thoughtfully decorated and equipped, with a very comfortable bed. We were able to truly relax and returned home refreshed."
    Mr Heath
"The property was prepared by the owners with extraordinary care and thoughtfulness, e.g. the torches by the beds, and the nest of tables with mats for drinks. There was genuine privacy without a sense of isolation; this was the perfect balance for us."

"Right from the start we were well looked after by the owners who met us to take us the last 300 yards to the cottage, which is up a hill and narrow lane and then helped us unload our car. We were then given a quick introduction to the what was in the cottage. We later found some milk and two slices of bara bree( cant spell) . The pictures didn't do justice to the bedroom which had a lovely super king size bed and didn't make the room feel small. The lounge area has a small table and chairs , a double settee and single chair which were comfortable for us, a tv with built in dvd player and even some dvd's there for us . The shower / bathroom is small but perfectly fine. The kitchen had all you need to cook your meals for two people. There are plenty of cups, glasses, pots, pans etc .We cooked most nights in it with no problems. The weather wasn't great so we were glad of the lovely central heating, which we could put on longer if needed. We didn't use the log burner. The tables and chairs outside were fine for a coffee with great views. Another nice touch was the book with plenty of information about the local area, such as good places to eat and visit. We used the local pub which was really good with great real ale but doesn't do food, the up side was we talked with the locals who were there with their dogs. This holiday felt like staying in a friends annex rather than a holiday let. A great holiday ,thank you Robin and Fiona"
    Mr Gary Saunders, Yeovil, Somerset
"The bedroom was even better than the picture of it. Had really nice owners and a very good and helpful information book, so we knew what was in the area. With having a washing machine etc it was like being in your own home."

    Mrs Caroline Mchugh, Horley, Surrey
"The cottage we stayed in was just perfect for our holiday. We were made to feel extremely welcome and were given lots of useful information on arrival. We particularly enjoyed the fantastic walks in the area and the variety which this area provided - woodland, open fields, beaches, rivers. Wonderful! We had a really great holiday and would definitely recommend this cottage to others! Thank you! "
    Mrs Alison Proudlove, Witney, Oxfordshire
"The cottage was very clean and comfortable for us and our 2 dogs. The owners were kind enough to leave out some Bara Brith which was a nice touch for when we arrived. The views were beautiful from the cottage. I would definitely recommend staying at Craiglwyd Bach for a holiday. Llandudno is very pretty and we enjoyed some lovely trips nearby and Mount Snowdon wasn't too far either."

"Where to start?? This cottage is absolutely brilliant. We arrived early, but Robin ushered us in and showed us around, regardless. The place is clean and neat, and it feels very spacious for its size. The kitchen is well equipped; they even supply tea and coffee (AND a couple of gravy treats for the dog!!). The decor is exactly what you'd want: country cottage, antique furniture, solid floors, etc. The high ceilings and exposed beams are beautiful. The extra touches which Robin and Fiona supplied are really what made our stay special: they have left torches in strategic places for a midnight foray, and they were happy to bring us extra wood for the log burner. They even left two slices of bara brith and some butter for us to have when we first arrived, and it was the nicest bara brith I've had in a long time!! The village has a couple of lovely pubs (we went to watch the rugby in a pleasing sea of red) with real ales and friendly locals. The proximity to Llandudno is great, but the views are even better. Getting up the single lane track was a little bit scary for us city folk the first time, especially when meeting a 4x4 coming the other way, but it wasn't difficult to access once we'd go used to it. One thing to bear in mind is that the cottage is a bit cold. It's a stone building which has been around for over 200 years, so that goes without saying. It's not a problem though, just make sure you bring slippers and light the fire early so that it's got time to heat the space. The central heating also works really well, and Robin encouraged us to put it on as much as we needed. I was worried I might be cold getting out of the shower, but it wasn't a problem at all with the radiators blasting out plenty of heat. The bed is really warm and comfortable, too. If you're not a dog owner, this would still be a great cottage to visit - there's no evidence of dogs there at all - but if you are a dog owner, I couldn't think of anywhere better to stay as a base for going walking and playing about on the beach. You can easily walk to the beach from the cottage. Our pooch loved sitting in front of the fire after an afternoon of chasing pebbles and playing chicken with the waves! There's also a great collection of DVDs and books in the cottage, to while away a few hours if the weather's bad. Alternatively, you could just do what we did and spend hours staring at the fire! All in all, highly recommended, and we can't wait to go back!"

"Excellent cottage for a couple who like a rural setting. This is a small country cottage sited in a very narrow road in a small Welsh hillside village. Its furnishing reflects its size and quaintness. We loved the peace and quite, yet it was in a short walk or drive to the major resorts of Llandudno, Penrhyn Bay or Rhos-on-Sea. Anglesey, Conwy and Colwyn Bay also can easily be reached."

"We loved the place and especially the views from the cottage. We had a lovely time and would definitely go back there if we visited North Wales again. It was lovely to go back to the cottage at the end of the day and sit and look at the views. The dogs really enjoyed the holiday and the walks on the hills and the West Shore beach. Robyn pointed us in the right direction for everything and helped us to make this holiday a memorable one!"

"This little cottage is a real gem and is situated in a lovely elevated position with views out to the sea. Inside it feels more like you are being invited to share someone's private home rather than a holiday cottage because it is so well kept and cosy. The whole cottage is very comfortable but the huge bed deserves special mention for comfort. All facilities are provided, the only exception being a hair dryer. The location is excellent for exploring the whole of northwest Wales. As others have mentioned the access road is rather narrow and steep but there is very little traffic so we had no problem even with a larger car, and on most nights we were able to park at the village hall which is only a few minutes away on foot. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week here and would recommend Craiglwyd Bach to anyone."

"I booked Craiglwyd Bach for a week to do some focused reading and writing. I needed basic comfort, shops within walking distance (the climb back up the hill got the heart going) and most importantly, peace and quiet. This was perfect. Mr Holden even met me at the station and brought me to the cottage, was on call thereafter (not needed) and then respected his guest's need for uninterrupted space. Sitting each morning at the breakfast bar looking out over the coast was a calming start to the day. The decor is a touch on the knick-knack side and there are a few draughts, but those are easily blocked and I was able to get snug in the living room and get my writing done. Modern kitchen and all the amenities needed. Will be returning at least twice again this year, a lovely location and property."

"The cottage is situated in the village of Penrhynside, it is up a steep hill as explained in the cottage description, but the helpful owner Robin met us in the Village Hall car park and showed us the way. The cottage is in an ideal location for local walks and also for visiting other areas of interest in North Wales. Robin advised on local walks and amenities, although the two village pubs do not serve food there are eating places nearby. The kitchen in the cottage is well equipped if cooking your own meals, the lounge is very cosy especially with the fire lit and the bedroom has a large and comfortable bed (best we have ever slept in on a holiday and hard to leave). We found the local people and the landlords of the two village pubs friendly, and the Cross Keys pub especially is very cheap for drinks. We will definitely be visiting again."

" We would recommend it to family and friends. "

" It was cosy and warm with the log fire up and running. Every one was friendly and the landlord and landlady at the local pub (The Cross Keys) made us welcome. To top it all off the beer was £1.00 cheaper than my local. The owner of the cottage was very helpful in making our stay a very enjoyable one. "

"Craiglwyd Bach was a very quaint and comfortable cottage with good facilities. The owners living next door were very welcoming and helpful. The views from the cottage were great in the good weather and also at night. The only down side to the location we felt was the very steep and narrow approach road, and the lack of level parking. You certainly would not want to take a large car, as the final bend in the approach is between two stone walls. We are in our sixties and maybe younger couples would cope with it, but we did not feel that the description of the cottage and the location described it quite accuratley."
    Mr Martin
" It has a super kingsize bed which is nice and no doubt local walks are good but we didn't do them as the weather turned very wet. "
    Mr Atkins
" If you would like a holiday that ticks all the right boxes go visit them. "
    Mr Carpenter
" It was perfect to come back to after a day of walking and sightseeing. The owners were lovely and seemed to have thought of everything, including some welcome treats for us and our two dogs. "

" The owners have gone the extra mile, very relaxing indeed. There are two dog friendly pubs in the village. We would recommend to family and friends. "
    Mrs Bamforth
" There are good dog friendly beaches nearby in Llandudno and two dog friendly pubs in the village just a few minutes walk from property. The friendly owners met us in the village and took us to the property. There was a lovely welcoming tray with cake, drinks and even chews for the dog. "
