Sarn Meyllteyrn 1.2 miles. Tucked away in the hamlet of Bryncroes on the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula is this unique, detached cottage of Ysgoldy. Dating back to 1830, this historic property was formerly a school and has been lovingly renovated into a family holiday home for six, blending its original character with contemporary touches. You'll find Ysgoldy set in a secluded location with delightful, rural surroundings and off-road parking for three cars. Originally the school room, be wowed by the sitting room's vaulted ceiling, oak flooring and exposed oak beams; start the large woodburning stove and snuggle up in front of the Smart TV, or take a good book up to the mezzanine area with extra seating! Move through the property into the well-equipped kitchen/diner with a breakfast bar for four offering a sociable space to keep the cook company while they rustle up a tasty supper. If you're celebrating a special occasion, be sure to prepare the formal dining room ready for dinner by the warmth of another woodburning stove, set in an impressive, exposed stone inglenook. Completing the ground floor is a contemporary, tiled bathroom with a bath and separate walk-in shower to suit all guests. Make yourself at home in one of three thoughtfully appointed bedrooms at Ysgoldy; the double and single with truckle under are located up the stairs from the dining room, while another double is on the mezzanine floor from the sitting room, with exposed oak beams, sloped ceilings and built-in storage. Spend summer days in your own spacious, private garden with lawn areas for picnics, plenty of flowers and trees, and a tranquil stream running through, while in the evening, lights guide you to the patio area for alfresco dining followed by stargazing in the bubbling hot tub! If you can tear yourself away from Ysgoldy, the tranquil hamlet of Bryncroes is close to Sarn Meyllteyrn for a village shop and two traditional, Welsh inns; Tafarn Pen-y-bont and Tŷ Newydd Sarn. Pack your towels, buckets and spades for a day along the sandy Traeth Penllech, just a short drive away, or spend the day in the bustling village of Abersoch. The village is renowned for surfing, Abersoch Golf Club, beachside cafés and plenty of watersports! At the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula you'll also fine Porth Neigwl, a sprawling sandy beach, the 16th-century house of Plas yn Rhiw, and the traditional village of Aberdaron; pick up tasty treats from a traditional Welsh bakery before embarking on a coastal walk for unforgettable sea views. Pwllheli is another must-visit for strolling along the marina with an ice cream in hand or stopping for fish and chips on Traeth Marian-y-de. For those seeking more outdoor adventures, Glasfryn Parc is within easy reach offering indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family! In a sought-after location for the best of countryside and coast, gather your loved ones for an unforgettable holiday at Ysgoldy.
