The literary town of Hay-on-Wye, 10 miles, has an abundance of book shops, coffee shops and boutiques. It makes a lovely day out for all the family, not forgetting the Hay Festival with lots of fabulous guest speakers and entertainment to be had.

Brecon Beacons National Park is 23 miles away and for those of you looking for a challenge, then climb Pen-y-Fan and admire the fantastic views from the top.
