An attractive, detached cottage at Hundred House in the centre of this small village 5 miles east of Builth Wells with excellent walking from the door.
An attractive, detached cottage at Hundred House, conveniently located in the centre of this small village 5 miles east of Builth Wells, home of the Royal Welsh Showground. Surrounded by wonderful Radnorshire countryside with lovely views and excellent walking from the door, this makes an ideal base for exploring Mid Wales and the borders, the drive over to Hay-on-Wye being particularly memorable.
Cilgwyn has a ground floor twin bedroom and a shower room (could be suitable for assisted wheelchair users), a fitted kitchen including fridge/freezer and washing machine, and a good-sized living room with TV & DVD player, WiFi and patio doors. Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a bathroom. The patio doors from the living room lead out to the enclosed rear patio with garden furniture and shrub borders. Steps lead up from the garden to the common just beyond Cilgwyn, great for playing games and walking the dog.
Hundred House has a pub serving meals. There are plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling in the area, in particular along the Wye Valley. Nearby attractions include Abbeycwmhir Hall with fascinating rooms and fantastic gardens, the National Cycle Museum at Llandrindod Wells, Judge's Lodgings at Presteigne, and Hay-on-Wye, famous for its bookshops and literary festival.
