This spacious home can be found within the grounds of a small manor house, in a tranquil, idyllic setting in the peaceful valley of Cwm Pennant, within the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. Plas Hendre Guest Wing is a remote property, surrounded by lush countryside and woodland, and offers a couple, small family or group of four a relaxing retreat in North Wales, within easy reach of the coast. Enter the property to discover a spacious living/dining room, filled with characterful, antique furniture, a large built-in display unit with lots of storage cupboards, plus a dining table that can comfortably seat the whole group and a choice of sofa and armchair to relax in and perhaps a family favourite film on the TV with DVD. The contemporary galley kitchen features a large farmhouse dresser and stylish dark grey units, and is fully equipped with all of the appliances you could need to cook up delicious meals, including an electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher to take care of the washing up. Head through the flag stoned hallway and up the staircase to the first floor, where you will find two spacious, carpeted bedrooms, a double and a twin, offering ample storage space and some antique furniture, along with a choice of two bathrooms - a freestanding bath and a shower room with walk-in shower - to help you start each day right. Outside there is a lovely front lawn and an enclosed rear gravelled garden with outdoor seating, a barbecue and fire pit, ideal for enjoying an alfresco meal or snuggling up on a chilly evening together. The property is surrounded by lawns and woodland, offering plenty of scenic strolls to enjoy. Bring bikes and cycle along the small lanes shaded by oak and beech trees, stroll along the Dwyfor river and enjoy hill walking and admire panoramic views of gently sloping fields and up to the majestic hillsides, as well as birdwatching and hopefully spotting green finches, yellow hammers, woodpeckers and more. Set within the Snowdonia National Park, explore your stunning surroundings of vast mountains overlooking stunning countryside and lakes, as well as quaint, remote villages, and climb Wales' highest peak, Snowdon, or take in the views as you ride the Snowdon Mountain Railway to its summit. The coastal town of Porthmadog is within easy reach, with its harbour, picturesque beach, Maritime Museum and Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway, a narrow gauge steam train that takes in countryside and woodland scenery. Further along the coast, on the Llyn Peninsula, is Criccieth, with a host of sandy beaches, beachfront eateries and fascinating castle, built by Welsh prince Llywelyn the Great. Plas Hendre Guest Wing offers a host of fantastic day out opportunities from its tranquil setting.
Sweeping with boundless areas of unspoilt countryside in the northeastern folds of the Snowdonia National park, is Cwn Pennant. Once home to slate quarries served by a narrow gauge railway, it is now a peaceful village, offering easy access to the coastal towns of Porthmadog and Harlech. There are many walking trails, way-marked paths and vigorous climbs to be discovered, taking in glorious scenery along the way, including glistening waters, craggy mountains and grasslands. Nearby, there are lovely sandy beaches, charming villages and plenty of attractions to keep you entertained, including the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, Criccieth Beach and strolls along the waterside in Portmeirion.
